I suppose before I begin this review I should clarify a few things, first and most importantly this review will be as spoiler free as possible. You should also know that I am a huge Mass Effect fan, having played through both Mass Effect 1 & 2 multiple times and own all the DLC for both games, including armor packs and Pinnacle Station. While playing this DLC I used a level 30 Paragon soldier who had already completed the main story. I should also note that my character is imported from Mass Effect 1, where I never romanced Liara, but from my understanding the romance is at least addressed and potentially continued.

Now to get to my opinions, this DLC is absolutely the best and longest of any Mass Effect DLC. Without saying to much about the plot of the DLC it takes you through various locations, and even has a car chase! Though the majority of the 2-3 hours of playtime will be spent dispatching various enemies, there is also a fair bit of exploration and dialogue to go through. There are several twists on the gameplay, but saying them could be considered spoiler territory so I’ll leave that alone. After completing the DLC there are plenty of interesting things to do, but describing them may ruin the story for you so I won’t. Despite the serious tone of this DLC there is a good amount of humor, though some may only be amusing to Mass Effect 1 players.

Overall this DLC though perhaps a bit short, is easily worth the price of admission. If you, like me, still sink far too many hours into Mass Effect 2 it is a must buy. If you only play occasionally I would still pick this DLC up, as it will add several hours of new content that is some of the best the game has to offer.

Today at PAX during the Gearbox panel, Randy Pitchford told the fans some exciting news. There will be an upcoming level cap. It’ll be from the current 61 to the new 69. They didn’t want to make the raise by 11 like the General Knoxx DLC. They also didn’t want it to be too low, like say 5. So, they decided on 8.

This update will be free and will and will also include rebalancing to accomodate the level cap increase.

This update will be available around the time of the release of the Borderlands GOTY Edition, which is October 12.

Earlier this week Bioware’s Chris Priestly confirmed, via a forum post to Bioware’s Mass Effect forums, that the previously announced DLC Liar of the Shadow Broker will be released on September 7, 2010 for 800 Microsoft Points. This DLC will have Commander Shepherd and Mass Effect 1 squad mate Liara T’Soni confronting the Shadow Broker.

Rare has said that our beloved Avatars are getting a redesign due to problems with Kinect games.

Nick Burton, senior programmer at avatar creators Rare, says that they’ll become more realistic and will essentially be ‘Avatar 2.0′.

The proportions will be made more realistic because hand-eye co-ordination broke when using the old cartoony proportions – not in terms of hardware but rather, player perception.

That’s all we know for now but expect to see the new avatars around Kinect’s launch.

Interested in H.A.W.X 2, but just don’t know if its a buy? As much as Wingman709 goes crazy over this game, I don’t blame you for checking it out first. Instead of renting it, you will be able to play the demo come Monday (tomorrow… August 16th). So why don’t you give the game a try? Even though the achievements were totally glitched in the first one.

2K Games has announced a 4th DLC pack for Borderlands.  It’s called ClapTrap’s Robot Revolution.  Players will be tasked with taking down a rebellious robot known as the Ninja Assassin.  An army of ClapTraps wages war against the Hyperion Corporation, and players are stuck in the middle.

Twenty new missions will be included in the DLC, along with new robot-flavored enemies including Crab-traps, Skag-traps and Raak-traps.  Two more skill points can be earned and players can nab an extra three backtrap slots for extra loot carrying fun.

Robot Revolution will hit PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 this September, where it’ll cost $9.99 (800 MS Points).

Are you a huge Borderlands fan like I am?  Have you maxed out your characters, beat all the DLC, gotten every achievement, and still want more?  Well you are in luck.  We have known about this DLC for some time in the fact that more was coming, but there seems to be some more rumor about the new DLC.  If you wish to read more about it and possibly read some spoilers, then go here for more details.  Otherwise, just be happy in the knowledge that more Borderlands is on the way.

Looking around the web today i noticed people saying that the store has something new. Aside from it currently not working due to EA/DICE and hereby making it impossible to play any map that was VIP only (thats over half of them). Map pack 5 is/was listed!
Adding 2 new/old maps like all the others, including White Pass Rush, Nelson Bay Conquest. Seems like it is supposed to be out the 28th. But no official word on Map pack 5 or the broken store.

Did you watch the Video Game Awards? Did you marvel see this game trailer? Well now you can play it even though it isn’t set to release until next year thanks to 2K’s beta sign up form here. They will be accepting applications throughout the beta so make sure to get yours in, and if it starts, don’t worry they will continue to grow the population until they announce on the site that it is closed to new players. So most of us knew that Gearbox set up a twitter account for General KnoXX. After his death on twitter (dated: 7:17 PM Mar 14th) There has been no word of him. Untill now, 18hours ago from now this appeared: tap. tap. is this on? had to turn my tweetergramming machine back on. just got some new orders. (sent from the future.)

So what could this mean? More DLC? Or a Borderlands 2 announcement soon? Only time will tell!

Title says it all, in case you were already bored of NCAA 11 (which you will be by then). I personally can not wait for Madden. For other reasons than just to play it.
