Rare has said that our beloved Avatars are getting a redesign due to problems with Kinect games.

Nick Burton, senior programmer at avatar creators Rare, says that they’ll become more realistic and will essentially be ‘Avatar 2.0′.

The proportions will be made more realistic because hand-eye co-ordination broke when using the old cartoony proportions – not in terms of hardware but rather, player perception.

That’s all we know for now but expect to see the new avatars around Kinect’s launch.

2K Games has announced a 4th DLC pack for Borderlands.  It’s called ClapTrap’s Robot Revolution.  Players will be tasked with taking down a rebellious robot known as the Ninja Assassin.  An army of ClapTraps wages war against the Hyperion Corporation, and players are stuck in the middle.

Twenty new missions will be included in the DLC, along with new robot-flavored enemies including Crab-traps, Skag-traps and Raak-traps.  Two more skill points can be earned and players can nab an extra three backtrap slots for extra loot carrying fun.

Robot Revolution will hit PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 this September, where it’ll cost $9.99 (800 MS Points).

Are you a fan of NetFlix on your 360?  Prepare to enjoy it even more starting September 1st as movies from the Epix TV channel will start streaming via NetFlix.  Epix is run by MGM, Paramount, and Lionsgate.  NetFlix will get to stream their movies 90 days after they arrive on Epix.  With those three large movie companies, the amount of movies available via streaming should be pretty awesome.

Are you a huge Borderlands fan like I am?  Have you maxed out your characters, beat all the DLC, gotten every achievement, and still want more?  Well you are in luck.  We have known about this DLC for some time in the fact that more was coming, but there seems to be some more rumor about the new DLC.  If you wish to read more about it and possibly read some spoilers, then go here for more details.  Otherwise, just be happy in the knowledge that more Borderlands is on the way.

I know this is old news but I have been so busy this week that I have not been able to post this story until now.  So my apologies for the lateness of this story, but its something I am excited about so here it is.

Are you asking what is a CL4P-TP?  Well you may know him by his common name of ClapTrap.  He is our little robot buddy from Borderlands.  Turns out that NECA will be releasing this action figure in October and it will include sayings from the game.  How sweet is that?  Sign me up.  This little guy will be a constant companion on my desk for sure.

Do you want to have a voice in the outcome of the next Carmine character (known as Clayton Carmine) in Gears of War 3?  For those of you who have played the last two games, you can pretty much guess on the fate of the next member of the Carmine family.  But if you are hoping to finally see things change for the family, then you will have a chance to voice your opinion by buying an Avatar t-shirt that tells the world what you think should happen.  The t-shirt that sells the most will decide who Gears of War 3 gets written for the character.

And the good news about this is that Epic is not just trying to milk you all out of more money.  Proceeds from this will benefit Child’s Play Charity.

I am a huge fan of Creedence Clearwater Revival (also known as CCR) and I am also a fan of Rock Band.  So you can imagine my excitement when I found out that CCR is finally coming to Rock Band.  The only drawback I see about this is that it comes out the same day as Crackdown 2, but mind you I will download this pack and get some time with it very soon after release.  Read on for the full track list and let me know if you will be buying this as well.  Rock on CCR fans.

Well blow me down.  I am shocked by this and wonder if this is the start of something new coming to demo’s.  Regardless, if you play the demo of Crackdown 2 coming out on Monday June 21st, you will be able to unlock 100 of the 1,000 achievement points in the game.

Now I can hear you all right now.  You are calling me a lier, saying I am full of some stinky brown stuff, and some other things that I can’t write here.  But if you won’t take my word for it, perhaps you will believe the following from Gamespot.  Enjoy.

UPDATE:  Just to make it clear, you don’t actually unlock them until you put the retail version of the game in your Xbox 360.  You can “achieve” them in the demo, but they won’t actually show up until you put the retail game in your Xbox.  Hope that clears things up.

Microsoft has spent years and millions trying to fix the Red Ring of death (RROD).  Well we are glad to report that they have finally fixed the issue and those who buy the new Xbox 360 Slim will never have to worry about seeing the Red Ring of Death.  The new console is incapable of red-ringing.  After years of research and testing, Microsoft found that the solution was to……take the red LED’s out of the console all together.  So there you go.  Your new console will never red ring.  It can still break, but instead of a RROD, you will now see a GROD (Green Ring of Death).

UPDATE – According to Microsoft’s support team, while the console won’t display a “red ring” in times of hardware failure, it will still clearly indicate an error by switching its power indicator (the light in the centre of the ring) from green to red. So we’ll get a red…dot of death instead. RDoT.

Rock Band 3 will have an incredible 83-song setlist, as well as support for the over 1,500 existing Rock Band tracks (Rock Band and Rock Band 2 discs, DLC, track packs, AC/DC Live: Rock Band Track Pack, LEGO Rock Band, and Green Day: Rock Band). The setlist contains songs from some of the best bands from around the world, including bands that have never appeared in a music game! Don’t think it stops there – the regular weekly DLC releases will continue afterRock Band 3‘s release.
