250gb Xbox 360S + Kinect Bundle

250gb Xbox 360S + Kinect Bundle

As most of you may know, back when Kinect’s price was offically announced Microsoft also announced an Xbox 360S arcade + Kinect Bundle for $299.

Well, the console creators put out a press release this morning and guess what was announced. They announced “The Ultimate Bundle”, which includes a 250gb Xbox 360S, Kinect, and Kinect Adventures. It will retail for $400. This will release along side all the other Kinect items on November 4th in the United States. They announced Europe will get all the Kinect stuff November 10th.

Will you be getting this or one of the other Kinect bundles?

New Controller Inbound

New Controller Inbound

Microsoft has announced a redesigned Xbox 360 wireless controller. Based on Joystiq’s post, the new controller will debut in a matte silver color with gray-toned face buttons and analog sticks with a more dramatic concave shape. Key to the new design is a “transforming” D-pad that changes from a semi-flush disc to a pop-out plus sign by twisting the D-pad clockwise. If you like a demo of the twist action head over to Major Nelson’s blog and check out the video.

The redesigned controller will only be available with the Play & Charge Kit. The bundle will launch on November 9 for $64.99.

Who Needs a New Controller?

Who Needs a New Controller?

I know this may not seem like something I would post about, but I’m having issues with both of my controllers so this is a great deal if you need a new one! Newegg is offering a deal on the new, all-black, glossier Xbox 360 wireless controller (the one that comes with the Xbox 360 “S”). Normally $39.99, it’s going for $29.99, which may not be a big drop in price, but it’s nice when you were not expecting the expense.

New Xbox 360 Model Hits Next Month, Kinect Bundle Confirmed

New Xbox 360 Model Hits Next Month, Kinect Bundle Confirmed

Microsoft today confirmed the release of a $200 redesigned Xbox 360 is on the way.

The new Xbox 360 model will feature the redesign unveiled at E3 last month which includes built-in WiFi and a proprietary plug for the Kinect motion sensor and a matte black finish. (Old Xbox 360′s will use USB for Kinect)

The new model, which will replace the $150 Xbox 360 Arcade model, will also include 4GB of internal flash memory. The model will have an empty hard drive slot, but Microsoft’s product manager Aaron Greenberg tells Kotaku there are still no news on hard drives for the new Xbox 360s. Continue Reading…

Xbox 360 Wins June, Up 88%

Xbox 360 Wins June, Up 88%

Good news for Xbox 360 owners, the Xbox 360 was up 88% in June moving a total of 451,700 units, and taking top honors beating the Wii (422,500) and thrashing the PS3 (304,800). Good job 360, but the only reason was the Xbox 360 Slim which for some reason is hugely popular…

4 GB Arcade Xbox 360?

4 GB Arcade Xbox 360?

We knew that after E3 (thanks to Aaron Greenburg and his big mouth), that the Arcade was getting a price drop. Hmm, I wonder who called that.. Anyways, what we didn’t know is if it would be getting a facelift, or continue with the great 512 MB flash memory on the board. Well, thanks to Amazon Germany (which you will have to trust me, the link it probably already gone), we know that the Arcade not only is dropping in price, but getting more on board storage. Go Microsoft.

Xbox 360 Slim guaranteed not to Red Ring

Xbox 360 Slim guaranteed not to Red Ring

Microsoft has spent years and millions trying to fix the Red Ring of death (RROD).  Well we are glad to report that they have finally fixed the issue and those who buy the new Xbox 360 Slim will never have to worry about seeing the Red Ring of Death.  The new console is incapable of red-ringing.  After years of research and testing, Microsoft found that the solution was to……take the red LED’s out of the console all together.  So there you go.  Your new console will never red ring.  It can still break, but instead of a RROD, you will now see a GROD (Green Ring of Death).

UPDATEAccording to Microsoft’s support team, while the console won’t display a “red ring” in times of hardware failure, it will still clearly indicate an error by switching its power indicator (the light in the centre of the ring) from green to red. So we’ll get a red…dot of death instead. RDoT.

Guitar Hero series getting new guitars

Guitar Hero series getting new guitars

Not to be outdone by Harmonix and the new keyboards for Rock Band 3, Red Octane is bringing something new to the table with Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock.  However, its nothing as cool as keyboards.  In fact, its just a revamped guitar.  Now instead of customizing the faceplate, you can customize the body of the guitar.  They have put the guts of the guitar into the neck so you can swap out part of the body.  I think they look cool, but I would rather try out the new keyboards in Rock Band 3.

Rock Band 3 Keyboard controller revealed

Rock Band 3 Keyboard controller revealed

Check out this video from USAToday.  It shows the prototype of the new keyboard.  I think this will be rather hard to play and I can see myself starting out on the easiest mode possible.  Either way, it might be fun, but I just don’t see myself playing with the keyboard much.  I tend to use the Guitar and sing most of the time.  But check it out and let us know what you think.  Is this something you think will really help to improve the game?

Has Project Natal been spotted?

Has Project Natal been spotted?

Another great post from engadget.com…

Hey — you know Microsoft’s Project Natal? Well we’ve just gotten an up close look at what appears to be the retail version (though it’s clearly marked a developer unit). We couldn’t storm the stage while Walt and Kara (and her son!) were showing it off, but no one seemed to mind that we took a load of these shots for your perusal. Check out gallery below for more pics! Continue Reading…

Xbox 360 going 3D?

Xbox 360 going 3D?

Well, well, well.  After all the talk from Microsoft that they are going to take a “wait and see” approach to 3D, it seems that they are indeed working on it.  Check out this article below from Engadget to see what I am talking about.  But get this Microsoft, I still don’t care.  I will not wear special glasses to play a game.

From Engadget

The image above is unmistakeable: 3D gaming on an Xbox 360 with the help of an LG 3D television. From the looks of the Korean press release, LG and Microsoft have entered into a memorandum of understanding to jointly market LG’s new 3D telvisions along side 3D-capable Xbox 360 games in South Korea, then later expand the partnership throughout the Asia Pacific region. If we’re reading this correctly then it appears set to begin by bundling Xbox 360 3D games with LG 55/47LX9500 LED televisions sometime at the end of June. In other words, we’re not seeing anything specific claiming new Xbox 360 hardware, just like we’ve seen on the PS3.

360 Will Get USB Storage Support

360 Will Get USB Storage Support

So you all know about my HD space issue, but it looks like another storage option is on the way. I’m glad to see the new option, but I’m not sure whey they are going to limit each USB to 16GB. I was hoping for more, but this will help my situation for about $30 instead of over $100. So here are the details via Joystiq. Continue Reading…

Gamestop Lists 250 GB Hard Drive

Gamestop Lists 250 GB Hard Drive

Will the 250 be sold separately? Will it only cost $130? Here is what I read via joystiq….

GameStop has listed a 250 GB Xbox 360 hard drive for sale, priced at $130 and scheduled to release on March 23. When reached for comment, Microsoft declined to make a statement by the time of this posting. Checking with GameStop, the retailer wouldn’t confirm the product either, but did tell us that the page featuring the 250GB drive “is not an error.” Continue Reading…

Still No Plans For 250GB HD

Still No Plans For 250GB HD

So for all of us that need some space, I have some not so wonderful news! Aaron Greenberg (Xbox Life Product Manager) spoke to Joystiq during the X10 event, stating that the 250GB hard drive will not be sold separately. The only way you’re going to get your hands on one of these at the moment is by purchasing the special bundles. Here is a quote from Mr. Greenberg: Continue Reading…

250GB Hard Drives coming to…..Japan

250GB Hard Drives coming to…..Japan

WHAT?  Are you kidding me?  Lets see if I got this right.  Microsoft is an American company, they have sold millions of consoles in the U.S. compared to 3 in Japan, and now that the 250GB drives are finally being sold seperately, Microsoft feels it needs to sell them first to …..JAPAN.  I hope those 3 Xbox 360 owners will rush out and buy them.
