’)We have laughed at the PS3 for its much touted Home service which we still can’t see the point of. But Sony seems to be making money off the service by people buying couches, art work, clothes, etc for their virtual homes and avatars. So is Microsoft going to copy this and bring it to our beloved consoles?
Game Stooge is reporting that this may be possible. It seems as if a survey is asking questions about a Home-like space where you can have your avatars mingle and play classic coin-op games. The survey is asking for thoughts on the name of this space with ideas like “Game Room”, “RetroCade”, “AvatArcade”, “RetroGame”, “Classics LIVE”, and so forth.
What do you think about this? Is this something you would actually want? Does it bother you that the best console ever is trying to mimic the Wii (Natal) and PS3 (Home)? Or do you think this is all good? Sound off and share your thoughts.

It’s only natural for them to want to imitate both console strong points. The Wii’s strongest selling feature is motion control and the fun family games. PS3 selling point really isnt home but i guess some people like it. I have a PS3 and i have played on home and to me it’s lame and boreing but if it was seemless without loading times i might go there every once in awhile. I’m sure microsoft is just going for see these consoles have these things and so do we. You can get our console for 100 bucks cheaper than the PS3 and we have most of the same games. I mean look at all the PS3 only games going to xbox as well its just one more thing for them to say we have better than PS3. Now the motion control thing they will have to do alot more than thouch the Wii ,but the more they have the same it’s getting harder for people to ignore the xbox as a fun console. My 28 year old sister ,who is married with a 9 month old baby, just made a xboxlive gold account. She plays mini-ninjas and Uno ,and she likes changing her avatars clothes so i gotta say it’s obviously starting to work!
Whatever it is, it involves Atari.
I’m all for it as long as they continue to also have free avatar stuff like they do now.
meh.. if i want to play a game, i’ll just press 2 buttons instead of walking to a virtual machine for 5min… Plus i think avatars as a people can’t take any more raping after Home
