We hit it fast and hard this week by starting out with our most recent gaming experiances. Well, those of us that have played our Xbox that is. You will have to be the judge if cellphone game counts or not. Brun launches our first story with a promised discussion of MMO’s coming to Xbox which Major Spork asked about last week. Then Mark asks if its wrong to make a realistic video game about a war that is still going on. Kyle touches base with the controversial Resident Evil 5 DLC and then Rob wants to know if the rising price of Xbox Live Arcade games are worth the cost of admission. We finish off our stories with the cool news of Amazon now selling Arcade games and if we really want more retro titles like Outrun. VIP is up next and we have five voicemails via TokBox this week. So get to downloading and enjoy this weeks show. Don’t forget to get your TokBox entries in before Episode 36 to be eligilbe to win 13 months of Xbox Live Gold.
Presar is MIA, but moroniccow, wingman709, and I pulled it off and recorded episode bjswick33. This week wingman shares his experience with the broken multiplayer in GH: Metallica, Kyle notices the gaming drought, and we have a review from one of our listeners. We have large VIP section this week and before we called it a night we announced the winner of our contest. Did I mention the new contest??? Enjoy the show!
Hello everyone and welcome back to This Xbox Life. This week we start off with a pretty long discussion about what we have been playing this week. Needless to say there were some serious opinions about some games. Then Wingman709 talks about his brilliant idea of renting games from GameFly via the Xbox 360. Seriously, I hope someone from Microsoft and GameFly are working on this. Next we talk about a possible Party bug. We really don’t know if it is a bug or if its just moroniccow causing all the problems. So be sure to send us a TokBox or email and let us know if you have experianced the same problem we discuss in the show. We then talk about the fact that we will not be “Called to Duty” this year, but we do think we will be required to rid an airport of some terrorists. We follow that by another paradoy song from Pallet Swap Ninja and then we hit the big topic of OnLive. Will it really kill PC and console gaming, or is it just another pipedream? We wrap up with some voicemails and then its off to play video games or get some sleep. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the silky smooth sounds of This Xbox Life.
After losing our 90 minute show last week, we re-recorded it this week with some changes and it turned out to be another 90 minutes long. This week we dive into our game giveaway and what we have been playing. Maybe based on what we have been playing lately we can figure out what happened to last weeks extra 90 minutes….I think it got infected. We play a song from Palette Swap Ninja that is in honor to moroniccow and Wingman709. Then its off to our topics of the week. We start off by sharing some tips on how to game on a budget. Then its Resident Evil Time as we talk about paying for DLC and if the game is all about racism or not. We cover EA’s price gouging for their new Arcade title Hasbro Family Game Night and then we have a quick discussion about the future of split screen gaming. We have a good number of questions and comments from our VIP’s and then we finally stop talking so that we can get back to Resident Evil 5. So tune in!
Episode 29 is our longest show to date! I started it off with some SF IV info, a typical Halo 3 story, and we all go into our impressions (except Zob) on Halo Wars. Some other games mentioned in this weeks show are: Rock Band: The Beatles, Wanted, Wheelman, and Rob talks a little about a non Xbox game, but you will need to listen to the show for that! Some other topics include companies joining in on the used game market, a Microsoft handheld, and our weekly VIP. Enjoy!
What a week! This week we are all back and ready to put on a show. We started off with what we have been playing and then jumped into the Wheelman interview controversy that has hit most of the gaming sites. After some lengthy discussion, we tackled easier game endings, Lost Planet 2, Taxes, the 360 out selling the Wii, and a new controller may be on the way? In this week’s VIP section, Raviolicaponi strengthens his claim that Zob is really Vin. Enjoy!
As you can tell by the title, this is our special Wheelman episode. We got the opportunity to talk to the Executive Producer of Wheelman this week and it was an awesome interview. We have an full hour interview that should get you ready for this upcoming game. We could have called it quits with the interview, but no, we decided to ramble on for another hour about some topics we wanted to talk about. Things like getting Achievements outside of your games, comparing Xbox Live Membership numbers to actual download stats, and we finish up with some talk about game demos. Wingman quickly rants about his distaste for a certain drummer from Metallica and then its off to our VIP section. So join us for a great show filled with Hollywood fun and thrills.
This week we settle back into our studios, and this week we have the “dream” team recording this week. Who that includes, well you will have to listen to the show and find out. We talk in length about our impressions of the NPD numbers, Tom Clancy H.A.W.X demo, how demos affect our game purchases, and our thoughts about Microsoft Retail Stores opening up soon. We close out the show with our V.I.P section. Reminder that we have a special interview lined up for Episode 27! So keep tuning in!
You asked for it and we responded with our very first LIVE community show. We opened the doors to our plush offices and the masses streamed in to meet their favorite hosts, worship the ground we walk on, and to revel in our awesomeness….ok, so you all came for the free pizza and Coke but you still showed up so we are happy. This week, we had a live call and got to hear from many of you guys. We started out by celebrating the fact that we went reached the 100 gamers on our gamercard and we are really close to hitting 2 million points. We then got down to business as we sounded off about some recent demos like Resident Evil 5, Halo Wars, F.E.A.R 2, and Skate 2. Rob steals Mark’s story about Avatar clothing coming as achievements and then we talk some GTA IV DLC. Rob brings up some info about NetFlix (which I am sure he stole from someone), and Brun ends storytime with some news of Battlefield 1943 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 both coming soon. We hit the VIP section and close out the show with some final thoughts. We hope you enjoy it.
